Walmart Pours Into the Restaurant Delivery Race with Dunkin’

A new partnership brings coffee, breakfast, and everyday shopping together as Walmart expands its delivery ambitions across the U.S.

Bentonville, Arkansas, 4 September 2026 – A trip to Walmart could soon mean more than picking up groceries and household essentials. Customers in eligible areas will be able to add a Dunkin’ coffee, donut, or breakfast sandwich to the same delivery order, bringing two familiar parts of the American daily routine together.

Walmart has expanded its restaurant delivery business through a new collaboration with Inspire Brands, the parent company of Dunkin’. The service will begin with the 150 Dunkin’ restaurants located inside Walmart stores, before expanding to most of Dunkin’s approximately 10,000 U.S. locations outside Walmart stores.

For customers, the experience is designed to be simple. Dunkin’ will appear in the Restaurants section of the Walmart app or Walmart.com when the service is available in their area. Shoppers can browse the menu, customize their order, and check out through the same platform they already use for Walmart purchases.

The partnership is part of Walmart’s broader push into restaurant delivery. The retailer began expanding into this space earlier in 2026 with Subway, using its existing delivery network to bring restaurant food to customers. Now, adding Dunkin’ gives Walmart another well known food and beverage brand to its growing delivery offering.

Walmart believes its extensive store network can help it scale the service quickly. The company says approximately 90 percent of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a Walmart store, giving its delivery operation a broad physical footprint.

What makes the development interesting is how naturally the two businesses fit into everyday life. A customer ordering milk, paper towels, and groceries can now add a morning coffee or a quick meal without opening another delivery app. It is a small change in the ordering experience, but one that reflects a much larger shift toward convenience and connected digital shopping.

As restaurant delivery continues to evolve, Walmart’s move with Dunkin’ shows that the competition is no longer limited to traditional food delivery platforms. Retailers are increasingly looking for ways to become part of more moments in a customer’s day, and the humble cup of coffee may be one of the easiest places to start.
