Ritter Sport Brings Bigger Bars and Bold Fall Flavors to US Shelves

The German chocolate brand expands its retail presence with new DUO bars and caramel-focused seasonal treats

Waldenburg, Germany, 18 September 2026 – Ritter Sport is expanding its presence in the US chocolate market this fall with a wider retail rollout and a collection of new seasonal products. The German chocolate brand is introducing larger DUO bars at Target stores across the country while adding new caramel-focused products designed for the fall season.

Beginning in September, Ritter Sport’s 7.7-ounce DUO bars are being introduced at 900 Target stores nationwide. The expansion gives consumers greater access to the brand’s larger chocolate format and strengthens its presence in the US mass retail market.

The DUO range includes Sweet & Salty DUO and the new Cookie DUO. Sweet & Salty DUO brings together caramel cream, salty butter biscuit pieces, and chocolate brownie. Cookie DUO combines chocolate cream and crunchy cookie pieces on one side with vanilla cream, cocoa, and vanilla biscuit pieces on the other. Both varieties are covered in milk chocolate.

Along with the larger bars, Ritter Sport is introducing seasonal products built around caramel, one of the flavors that has gained attention in its US portfolio. The Mixed Caramel Minis pack brings together three varieties: Caramel Pretzel, Caramel Popcorn, and Double Caramel Crunch.

Another new product, Caramel Choco Cubes, offers small pieces of milk chocolate filled with two layers of caramel. The format is designed for easy snacking and sharing, while the seasonal packaging gives the products a clear connection to fall occasions.

The new products build on the popularity of Ritter Sport’s Salted Caramel offering in the US. By combining caramel with salty and crunchy elements, the brand is exploring flavor combinations that fit current consumer interest in contrasting tastes and indulgent snacks.

The retail expansion also extends beyond Target. The DUO bars will be available at Target and World Market, while the seasonal caramel products will reach retailers including Publix, CVS, Kroger, The Fresh Market, Raley’s, Hy Vee, and Woodman’s. Suggested prices start at $9.75 for the DUO bars and $6.89 for the seasonal stand-up bags.

Ritter Sport’s US expansion comes as the company continues to develop its position in the premium chocolate category. According to Nielsen data cited by the company, Ritter Sport was the fastest-growing premium chocolate brand in the US for the 52 weeks ending July 11, 2026, across total US all-outlet sales.

Founded in 1912, Ritter Sport is produced by the family-owned Alfred Ritter, which is headquartered in Waldenbuch, Germany. The company operates production facilities in Germany and Austria and sells its Ritter Sport and Amicelli brands in more than 100 countries.

With larger formats, seasonal flavors, and broader retail availability, Ritter Sport is using the fall season to bring new choices to American chocolate shoppers. The latest launches also show how chocolate brands are using limited seasonal products, creative flavor combinations, and convenient formats to attract consumers in a competitive confectionery market.
