Giving Your Meals the ‘Authentic’ Asian Experience

Authentic Asia, a Minneapolis-based Bellisio Foods-owned brand, has officially announced the launch of its new, innovative single-serve frozen meals line, which is designed to highlight authentic, regional flavors of Asia, restaurant-quality ingredients, and at-home convenience. More on the latter bit would reveal how this new line of frozen food fulfills convenience objective through a takeout-style design and a unique two-tray single-serve package. Furthermore, the innovative packaging allows rice and noodles to cook separately from the protein, sauce, and vegetables. This, like you can guess, goes a long distance to ensure that each meal is able to maintain authentic taste and texture, all while providing consumers a takeout-style experience with the ease of microwave. In total, Authentic Asia’s newest meals feature seven unique recipes which are inspired by cuisines of Thailand, China and Korea, Talk about each one on slightly deeper level, we begin from Thai Style Coconut Curry Chicken. Inspired by the famous Khoa Soi, Authentic Asia’s Thai Style Coconut Curry Chicken is basically white meat chicken, Thai-inspired noodles, and a Northern Thai-inspired coconut curry sauce. Next up, we have Thai Basil Stir Fried Beef. This one draws its basis from Pad Kaprao, and therefore, features seasoned beef crumbles, jasmine rice, green beans, roasted red peppers, chilis, along with a bold Thai basil sauce. Joining the mix here would be Drunken Noodles. Conceived in line with Pad Kee Mao, Authentic Asia’s Drunken Noodles pack together Thai-inspired rice noodles, vegetables, and a spicy Thai chili sauce.

“Our new single-serve meals are crafted to bring the rich, genuine flavors of Asia directly to your table,” said Anat Julintron, CEO of Bellisio Foods, the U.S.-based subsidiary of Thai-based Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF). “We have focused on maintaining the integrity of traditional recipes while incorporating modern packaging innovations to enhance at-home dining. Additionally, the packaging is designed to address busy lifestyles with on-the-go meals for easy consumption.”

Moving on to the all-new Sichuan-Inspired Chicken, it takes inspiration from the well-known Gong Bao Ji Ding to offer customers white meat chicken, rice, green beans, carrots, onions, and a spicy Sichuan sauce. Then, there is Orange Chicken, which follows the profile of Chen Pi Ji. In essence, Authentic Asia’s Orange Chicken brings to your disposal an assortment of breaded white meat chicken chunks that are served next to fried rice, mixed vegetables, and a tangy orange sauce. Hold on, we still haven’t touched upon the newly-introduced Korean Inspired Beef Noodles. Boasting undertones of Jajangmyeon, this particular dish is made using Korean-inspired noodles, seasoned beef patty crumbles, onions, cabbage, and a sweet & savory bean sauce. Rounding up highlights is the Kimchi Fried Rice. Inspired by Bokkeum-Bap, the dish in question essentially features rice, kimchi, stir-fried vegetables, and a Korean-inspired gochujang sauce.

As for availability, new Authentic Asia single-serve meals will be available in the grocer’s freezer section nationwide, including major retailers such as Walmart, Meijer, and Hy-Vee.
